Simpson College selects Lexicon to produce its 150th Anniversary Commemorative Book

Simpson College of Indianola, Iowa, has chosen Lexicon to produce its sesquicentennial commemorative book in anticipation of its 150th anniversary on September 24, 2010. Featuring detailed accounts of the college's rich educational, cultural and athletic history, the 120-page book will showcase both original photographs depicting historical persons and events as well as current photos, including a cover photo of College Hall taken by Lexicon photographer James A. Stepp. The release date is set for mid- to late November, in time for holiday purchases.

Better Business Bureau gives Lexicon A+ rating

Lexicon has been awarded the Better Business Bureau's highest possible rankingan A+. "This grade represents BBB's degree of confidence that the business is operating in a trustworthy manner," according to the BBB website. An A+ is awarded only when a business scores between 88 and the maximum 90 points on the BBB's detailed point system, which is based on a wide range of factors including accreditation, years in business, and customer complaint history.

Lexicon's Home Know-It-All blog featured on national radio show

On Sunday, September 12, Lexicon's The Home Know-It-All blog received national exposure when it was featured on the radio talk show Home Improvement USA. Home Improvement USA, according to their website, "focuses on renewable energy sources and environmentally friendly products for powering the home" which corresponds closely with several of the Home Know-It-All's key objectives. Lexicon CEO Catherine Staub discussed details relating to the blog's success and content during a fifteen-minute segment of the show. "It was an excellent opportunity for us to praise the merits of our blog through a channel we hadn't yet explored, while hopefully expanding our audience to reach additional readers." An Evening with Chrysalis

Invitation It's always an honor for Lexicon to help support a worthy organization. The Chrysalis Foundation is a community-based foundation that provides resources to support leadership and economic self-sufficiency for girls and women in Des Moines, Iowa, and the surrounding area. Lexicon was pleased to design the invitations and reply cards for a charity cocktail party fundraiser to benefit Chrysalis on July 29th, 2010.

Granzow joins editorial team at Lexicon

PRESS RELEASE:

Nate Granzow, a 2010 graduate from Drake University, has joined Lexicon Corp. as a writer.

Granzow graduated from Drake University in May 2010 with degrees in magazine journalism from the School of Journalism & Mass Communication and english from the School of Arts & Sciences.

During the summer of 2008, Granzow interned for Minnesota Outdoor News. From August 2008 to May 2009, Granzow served as the Meredith Corporation apprentice for Living the Country Life. He also contributed to Successful Farming Online. Granzow spent the summer of 2009 interning for WOOD Magazine at Meredith. 

On campus, Granzow wrote for Drake Magazine his freshman year. As a sophomore, he served as the Op Ed columnist for The Times-Delphic newspaper, and as a senior, he took on the role of senior editor for 515 Magazine, a lifestyle magazine produced by senior magazine students.
